The following items must not be put in your recycling bin, as they can contaminate the load.
- Wrapping paper
Wrapping paper, specifically those containing glitter, plastics or foils, should be disposed of in your general waste bin.
- Christmas Cards
Christmas cards, specifically those containing glitter, are difficult to recycle and should be disposed of in your general waste bin. Some local schools or supermarkets collect Christmas cards as a way of raising funds.
- Batteries
Batteries must be removed from novelty cards prior to disposal. Please dispose of these at your local battery recycling scheme (available in most supermarkets).
